(DiverWire) Be the first to pick up your Wreck Trek PASSPORT from Dive Industry of British Columbia (DIABC) (Booth #224) at the Tacoma Dive & Travel Expo. This is the Pacific Northwest’s biggest dive show; it’s held in the Greater Tacoma Convention & Trade Center, Tacoma, Washington, April 20th and 21st.
The Wreck Trek PASSPORT developed by the DIABC, in conjunction with Tourism BC and fully supported by the dive stores and charter operators in British Columbia, gives you, the diver, a great opportunity to win a number of prizes.
The PASSPORT will be a 24-page souvenir booklet you can use to track your dives on the various wrecks throughout BC. Once you complete a featured dive, the sponsor operator will stamp your Wreck Trek PASSPORT. Once you’ve completed all the featured dives, you’ll be eligible to enter the Wreck Trek draw. Stop by the DIABC Booth (#224) for all the details on this new venture for BC.
As the sport of SCUBA diving matures, divers are looking for new challenges and exciting places to dive and explore; British Columbia offers all of that and more! The adventure of cold water diving has come into its own over the last few years: training, thermal protection and operators all catering to cold water divers. This has opened the door to a new and extremely exciting underwater world.
The coast of British Columbia has been voted as the number one place to dive in North America because of its proliferation of healthy marine life. The variety of species, colors and dive sites along the 22,000 kilometers of shore have made the BC number one on the divers’ bucket list. And diving deeper into that bucket list there are lakes filled with ‘Gold Rush’ era paddle wheeler wrecks from a by-gone age and disappearing rivers for the true explorer.
The DIABC is excited to support the Tacoma Dive & Travel Expo 2013 show, April 20th & 21st. This year’s show is expected to be host to over 250 exhibitors. It will be great time for divers to see what the amazing diving there is in British Columbia.
