Last week, Anthony De Rosa, Social Media Editor for Reuters composed an article about new challenges facing nonprofit organizations. DeRosa used Sea Save Foundation as an example of a creative 501(c )3 looking outside the box for capital to support their programs. An online auction makes it possible for an economically challenged SCUBA industry to support ocean conservation. Rallying to support Sea Save Foundation programs, donors have contributed generously. Live-aboard trips to the Maldives, Fiji, Komodo, Cocos Island and Galapagos as well as land based trips to Saba and Fiji begin the list of items on the block. Art work by Church, Hiller and Rogest as well as SCUBA and photography gear from the leading manufacturers are additional items being auctioned.

We were happy with the results of our recent California AB 376 campaign. By working with the bill author, Paul Fong and his team we were able to raise awareness about the horrific practice of shark finning. We worked toward the passage of the bill from the assembly, through the senate and then to the governor’s desk. We were thrilled when it passed.”
