Oceanic Creates Video Tutorials for New OC1 SCUBA Dive Computer

Oceanic Worldwide has long been the leader in diving technology. The company’s new OC1 dive computer is just the latest example of the company’s commitment to advanced SCUBA diving innovation.

The OC1 is the first dive computer in the world to feature an onboard “Dual-Algorithm” option, a concept that will quickly become an industry standard.

Naturally, Oceanic has used modern technology to create a series of simple, highly informative video tutorials about the OC1. One of the most impressive is the No Deco Dive presentation that shows viewers exactly how the OC-1 displays information and responds during a simulated dive.

“We wanted to do something completely different and new with the OC1’s introduction,” says Doug Krause, Oceanic Worldwide Marketing Manager. “It’s appropriate because the OC1 offers the completely new and growing concept of “dual algorithm” that the dive industry will be hearing more about going forward.”

Together with DiveNav, the developer of the eDiving scuba diving simulator, Krause has created a series of short tutorials housed on the Oceanic.com web site and YouTube. These include:

OC-1 Introduction

OC-1 Watch mode

OC-1 Surface Dive mode

OC1 Compass Mode

Additional video tutorials are available on the Oceanic Worldwide web site

“The OC1 is an important part of the future of SCUBA diving as we know it. We’ve investing a lot of time in these presentations. To my knowledge, no other company has gone to such great lengths to introduce a product – we feel the OC1 is worth this investment of time and resources.”
