The brand new 110-ft Rocio Del Mar liveaboard vessel recently completed all of its test voyages and is now ready to begin taking divers to popular sites throughout the Sea of Cortez. Easily one of the most modern and attractive vessels in the region, the Rocio Del Mar provides new options for divers wanting to explore the same waters Jacques Cousteau raved about years ago.

According to Dora Sandoval, one of the principals of the vessel, there is ample space for 22 divers and 9 crew, with 10 staterooms complete with private bath facilities in each room. “We designed the Rocio Del Mar for the ultimate in diver comfort combined with ultimate in underwater encounters.”

Sandoval explained that water temperatures are in the mid to high 80s from mid-May through November, with colder water excursions planned for the winter months.

Several years in development, the Rocio Del Mar departs each Saturday afternoon from Puerto Penasco.  Each trips offers a unique itinerary that begins at the Midriff Islands and continues to many remote sites where divers can encounter a wide range of marine life including whales, manta rays, whale sharks and more than 800 different species.
