(DiverWire) It hasn’t been that long (11 years) since Brazilian filmmaker and TV personality Cristian Dimitrius was part of the team at Stuart Cove’s Dive Bahamas in Nassau. A former shark feeder and dive instructor with the Stuart Cove operation, Dimitrius has gone on to establish himself as a well-respected biologist, filmmaker and photographer with projects that have taken him around the world.
Earlier this month, Dimitrius returned to the Bahamas to film the region’s Caribbean Reef Shark population as part of a major Brazilian TV project. He says it was fun to return to Stuart Cove’s. “I still feel like I’m part of the staff. The story we worked on is about my relationship with the sharks and being a shark feeder. We are trying to get some shots never before seen on Brazilian television.” He explained the team used GoPro cameras together with the expertise of the Stuart Cove underwater production team to capture exceptional footage that will be viewed by more than 50 million viewers of the popular Domingão Faustão television program.
Dimitrius adds that his experiences with Stuart Cove and his team will be shared via several media outlets in Brazil, Facebook and other social media outlets.
“It was great to see Cristian again,” said Stuart Cove. “He was a key part of our team when he was here in 2001 and it’s fantastic to see that he has moved on in such exciting ways. We are pleased that he will be showing divers and adventurers in Brazil and South America some of the diverse marine life that we encounter every day.”
Cove points out that the scuba diving market in Brazil continues to grow with regular flights from South America to Nassau leaving every week. For more information on Stuart Cove’s dive adventures, visit the website at www.StuartCove.com
