Sea&Sea unveils new compact digital underwater camera package

SEA&SEA announced this week that it has launched a brand new compact digital camera set, the DX-GE5.

The DX-GE5 is SEA&SEA’s next generation of underwater digital camera systems combining a waterproof digital camera and underwater housing depth rated to 180ft.  The DX-GE5 achieves a decisive balance between style, performance and value, which are what today’s scuba diving photographers are asking for.

According to Sea&Sea’s Jon Davy, “This new product continues to build on the features and options scuba diving photographers have come to expect from Sea & Sea. The DX-GE5 is compact and built for travel – but it’s also designed for performance and it does that in a big way.”

Davy explains that the DX-GE5 camera is waterproof to 16ft/5m WITHOUT the housing and is packed with the latest array of digital features that include an ultra-fine 12.2 megapixel CCD sensor, 2.7” LCD display, 4x optical zoom, 38-152mm zoom lens (35mm equiv.), ISO 64-3200, face detection, image stabilization, a variety of shooting modes including SEA&SEA underwater, 720×480 30fps u/w movie, panorama and more all in an ultra thin and compact design.

The camera offers 16MB of internal memory, accepts SD/SDHC memory cards up to 16GB, and comes standard with a Li-Ion battery, charger, USB cable and Arcsoft editing software.  Optional accessories include a wide-angle conversion lens (#SS-52115).

The DX-GE5 camera is protected by a rugged and dependable polycarbonate housing allowing full functionality of the camera to 180ft.  Combine the DX-GE5 set with SEA&SEA’s YS-01 or YS-02 lighting packages for the latest in underwater compact digital imaging technology.

The DX-GE5 (#SS-06633) is expected to be available at the end of September with an MSRP of $629.00.
