(DiverWire) Buddy Dive Resort on Bonaire has started offering the PADI Distinctive Specialty Lion Fish Hunter. The course was introduced this month and was developed by Buddy Dive Academy Course Director Pepe Mastropaolo and approved by PADI.
Designed to provide divers with an overview of the lionfish explosion and the related problems this invasive species presents to marine habitats, the Buddy Dive course is a $125 full day program that includes theory and two fun dives using the proper equipment to control the growing lionfish population.
According to Buddy Dive officials, the first group of divers to enroll in the course went out and captured 12 lionfish.
