Scubapro Seawing Fin Featured in Popular Science Magazine

Popular Science magazine recently singled out the Scubapro Seawing Nova fin in its December, 2009 issue. The innovative scuba diving fin is part of the “Best of What’s New” feature from editors of the magazine.

Introduced by SCUBAPRO  in June 2009, the Seawing Nova is a remarkably lightweight fin, with an articulated joint (like the tail joint of a dolphin) which allows the blade to pivot.

Pivot Control Technology ensures that the most efficient angle of attack is maintained across all strengths of kick so there is no wasted thrust, and minimal drag. Since its debut, the buzz around this uniquely shaped fin has been steadily growing, collecting rave reviews from consumers and dive publications alike.

The innovative success of this new SCUBAPRO fin did not escape the editors of Popular Science, who evaluate thousands of products to determine the “Best of What’s New”:
“For 22 years, Popular Science has honored the innovations that surprise and amaze us − those that make a positive impact on our world today and challenge our views of what’s possible in the future.” said Mark Jannot, Editor-in-Chief of Popular Science. “The Best of What’s New Award is the magazine’s top honor, and the 100 winners − chosen from among thousands of entrants − represent the highest level of achievement in their fields.”

The Seawing Nova is featured on page 59 of the December 2009 issue of Popular Science, and can be found at Popular Science December, 2009.
