PADI has announced a new way for divers to master these critical skills with the launch of PADI Dive Theory Online — the latest addition to the PADI eLearning® course offerings.Now, PADI Divemaster candidates, IDC-bound Pros, IDC Staff Instructor candidates, Course Director Training Course applicants and divers who want to master fundamental dive theory can use this convenient program to study and then review at their own pace. Students take the exam when they’re ready and confident they’ve learned the material.
“One of the biggest challenges for a diver preparing to become a PADI Pro is mastering and retaining dive theory,” says James Morgan, PADI Americas Vice President of Training and Customer Service. “PADI Dive Theory Online offers another study tool to help divers rise to the challenge through a multimedia-rich, online learning environment. It’s a convenient study option for those learning dive theory for the first time, and for those who want to update and refresh what they know.”
PADI Dive Theory Online contains six sections that cover dive physics, physiology, equipment, skills, environmental considerations and the Recreational Dive Planner. The course presents content in easy-to-learn segments followed by study questions that allow eLearners to confirm their understanding before moving on. Graphics, photos, video and animations help cement understanding, while end-of-section questions verify the eLearner’s mastery of the entire topic. Students can access the course materials for 12 months from their registration date.
