(DiverWire) The Aggressor Fleet has just announced a new addition to its live-aboard fleet – the Thailand Aggressor. Beginning March 3, 2013, the 115 ft. steel yacht, Thailand Aggressor will begin operating northern and southern routes in the Andaman Sea from Phuket, Thailand. The Star Dancer will operate in Papua New Guinea until November 28, 2012 where it will then travel to its new home in Thailand. She will undergo extensive refurbishment before reemerging as the 16 passenger Thailand Aggressor. Itineraries will include 7 and 14 night charters that will alternate so guests can experience the best of both itineraries in the pristine waters of the Andaman Sea.
On July 11, 2012, CEO Wayne Brown of Aggressor Fleet was very pleased to sign an agreement with our newest franchisee owner, Touchatorn Sutanyavinij (Ong), whose company; “Elegance Travel” is currently the largest tour operator in Thailand. “We are very excited to have Ong’s extensive knowledge of diving in Thailand and adding this exciting destination to Aggressor Fleet. Ong is a perfect fit for our company and we look forward to having him aboard.” Ong is an avid scuba diver and has led groups and traveled on many Aggressor Fleet yachts and is eager to be a part of the fleet.
Phuket, Thailand is often referred to as the “Pearl of the South” and for scuba divers it’s the crown jewel of the Andaman Sea. This island paradise lies only 8 degrees (480 nautical miles) north of the equator and enjoys a tropical climate year round. For divers the true treasures of the Andaman Sea are found at famous areas such as the Similan Islands, Phi Phi Islands, Richelieu Rick, Hin Daeng, Koh Raja and Shark Point, where the warm, clear water draws large schools of tropical fish, manta rays, and the awe-inspiring whale shark. The wealth of aquatic life will delight underwater photographers and marine naturalists.
From May to October the Thailand Aggressor will travel the southern route of the Andaman Sea taking in such sites as Shark Point, Anemone Reef and Phi Phi Islands. From November to April, the Thailand Aggressor will alternate routes every week. This will give guests the opportunity of being able to experience the best of both itineraries by traveling the Northern itinerary one week and the Southern itinerary the following week (or visa versa). For guests traveling both itineraries, there is one night between charters where they will be provided a free hotel night and transfers in Phuket compliments of the Thailand Aggressor.
