(DiverWire) The Bimini Sands Resort, in conjunction with Neal Watson’s Hammer HeadQuarters have announced the  2014 Shark Showdown Video Week January 25-February 01, 2014. The first-of-its-kind event will feature underwater film legends Howard and Michele Hall.

mail.google.comBimini has been at the forefront of shark science and shark conservation for decades with the establishment of the world renowned Bimini Biological Field Station (Sharklab), the world’s first Shark Free Marina and as part of the Bahamas Shark Sanctuary.  Divers have also enjoyed countless species on various dive encounters, but this event marks the islands biggest media event dedicated solely to sharks.

Each year the great hammerheads migrate through the crystal clear waters of Bimini and Neal Watson’s Hammer Headquarters is the only local operation offering encounters with these majestic creatures.  The dive guides have over a decade of onsite experience and were part of the team that established initial interactions with these animals.  Part of the proceeds from each diver goes directly to local shark research and conservation efforts.

The weeklong adventure includes incredible shark diving, a wild stingray encounter, wild dolphins, a mangrove snorkel, all meals & beverages, luxury condo accommodation with the dive boat at your door step,  pro workshops and one on one tutorials throughout the week and amazing prizes including gear from Oceanic/Aeris, Pelican, Shark Armor, Pascale Painter of the Blue and a weekend getaway with airfare and diving at Bimini Sands.
