Stuart Cove’s Dive Bahamas has announced two new wreck dives are now accessible to scuba divers visiting Nassau. The two wrecks, which were placed on the bottom as the result of a joint effort between Stuart Cove’s and the Bahamian government are The Anthony Bell and The Long Island Lady.
According to Stuart Cove officials, the wrecks are just the latest artificial reefs to be placed in the popular waters off the coastline. To date, nearly 20 wrecks have been created to help create new sites and increase the health of the underwater environment.
Stuart Cove’s has been a leader in the development of new diving sites designed to enhance the local evironment.

Here’s a look at the two wrecks:
The Anthony Bell
“The Anthony Bell” is an old decommissioned tug boat that used to work at Clifton Pier on the south west corner of New Providence Island in the Bahamas. The Tug was cleaned from the inside out and then was sunk off the south side of Goulding Cay in mid-August just West of the island of New Providence. She is approximately 90 feet in length, sitting in 50 feet of water surrounded by coral and is the newest wreck at Stuart Cove’s Dive Bahamas.
The Long Island Lady
“The Long Island Lady” is fishing boat that was sitting abandon in the Nassau harbour for years. After being floated and brought to shore, she was thoroughly cleaned up by volunteers from local schools, The Bahamas defense force, Dolphin Encounters and staff of Stuart Cove’s Dive Bahamas during April’s Coastal awareness month. After a few months, she was cleaned up once again and she was then moved out to her sinking on this past June. The Long Island Lady is about 70 feet long and she is sitting on a rocky bottom at about 40 feet in depth, right next to the tongue of the ocean wall that drops down to 6500 feet.
